"Blue Days" in September !
This Belgian boat will join one of the two flotillas which will cruise through to Belgium before retracing their steps to return to the Deûle. The two flotillas will meet at the Union rally site on Saturday 19 September A great family event will take place on the week-end of 19-20 September 2009, to celebrate the return of boats to the Roubaix*-Espierres Canals. Since our last Newsletter in December 2008, the partners have been working non-stop on all aspects of the event. Already 30 boats have registered to take part in ‘Blue Days’, and we expect about 60 boats in all, from the rowing scull to the 38m barge. If you would like to bring your boat, register here. Read about the last works to be completed and discover the outline programme for the event which is taking shape : entertainment and activities for all tastes, for all ages, marked by the waterside tavern (guinguette) atmosphere which has been maintained along the canal – and in the minds of the local population – during these 25 years of inactivity.
